The main attraction of this seed is the giant cliff that overhangs into the middle of a lake (x=36, z=-50). If you look at the side there is also an exposed spider dungeon.
I built my first house in the the skeleton dungeon there on the side. I then made my mine shaft on in the mountain across from the dungeon. Found 34 coal and 17 iron after digging about 15 blocks in :D
I love this map, on the top picture you can see a hole in the wall on the right. In there is a secret waterfall that goes deep into the mountain. Very cool.
There's a natural mine opening in the cliff across the water from the "floating island" (where I built my base). I ran a cart track over and started a mine there - very extensive cavern network which naturally extends all the way to bedrock - plenty of exposed minerals including diamond. You can easily extend it into the SW quadrant to find even more. Haven't yet found a second dungeon (thoughtlessly destroyed the spider spawner, and now I wish I had turned it into a trap to farm string).
Might be the same cave as described above since it's so HUGE. but if you go to 8.1, 65, -105 and fact the mountain then start digging steps forward you will end up (within 10 steps) inside i huge mine. It has waterfalls, lava falls and sometimes both in the same place. Very cool. Used over 100 torches sparingly and still exploring darkened areas.
started with a mining post in the middle of the lake. down, down, deeper and down. later up up up and into the over hang to build house. will have a hole going through the over hang so i can jump down directly down the mine shaft and have a pool at the bottom to break the fall. and when i jump, i will shout 'WEEEEEEEEE!'
If you keep digging at the back of the cave which Gimble mentioned. you will eventually get to dirt, then into a medium sized underground lake. even in shape. reminds me of the fairy fountain from zelda.
Tons of gold all over that cave that Gimble said. Read his instructions but you have to dig down. Tons of iron and coal and gold but only 1 diamond so far
Once you are down in the cave and got most of the stuff, go toward the southwest quadrant of the map (positive x y and z coordinates) for a huge cave system again

ReplyDeleteI got golden apple from the dungeon!
ReplyDeleteSame. bahaha
ReplyDeleteis this for 1.4??
ReplyDeleteI leveled the surface of the rock outcropping up top and built a fortress there. It's fantastic, spacious, and fairly free of mobs.
ReplyDeleteThere's a cool lava lake on the north end of the water lake at x:-30 z:-70
ReplyDeleteI think Notch changed it for 1.4 and 1.4_01
ReplyDeleteif anyone finds alot of diamonds or some special dungeon with rare stuff inside post the coordinates here pls
